The book analyzes the contribution of S. T. Aksakov to the formation of the foundations of higher land management education, to the organization of educational and economic life of the Konstantinovsky Land Survey School and the Konstantinovsky Land Survey Institute in the system of state land surveying institutions in Russia. At the same time, the authors revealed the multifaceted interests of Sergei Timofeevich related to domestic education, literary, artistic and theatrical life of the country during the period of S. T. Aksakov's being as director of the Land Survey Institute. The book is based on an extensive list of historical sources, may be of interest to researchers of the life and work of S. T. Aksakov, the history of higher land management education in Russia and the Konstantinovsky Land Survey Institute. It can be used as a teaching aid for undergraduate and postgraduate students studying national history.
